Transparency and interests
Many governors work in a voluntary or paid capacity in organisations that relate to education; and their expertise and networks are often useful to the school for that very reason.
In the interests of transparency, governors declare what education-related interests they have, in the table below. If any debate comes up that directly affects their business or other interests, they declare that fact at the meeting and, when appropriate and in consultation with the chair, recuse themselves from participating in any decision-making process.
Parent Governor Vacancies
Governors are responsible for strategic planning and overall governance of the school. They help to appoint our staff, and to build good relationships between the school, parents and our local community. Our parent governors are very valuable members of the governing body and we rely on them to help us to keep in touch with what parents are thinking. They are on the governing body as representative parents, but they are not delegates and other parents cannot mandate them on how they should vote.
